Bookkeeping by Leah

Books kept by someone who's been on your side of them.

I've run a web design studio, a landscape business, and a full horse boarding and training operation. I know what it's like to juggle payroll, manage employees, and wrangle multiple income streams — and still try to keep your books clean at the end of a long day. That experience is what I bring to your business.

What I Offer

Services

Good books don't happen by accident. They take consistent attention, the right systems, and someone who knows what they're looking at. You should focus on what you're great at - let me handle the rest.

Bookkeeping

Monthly transaction categorization, reconciliation, and financial statements — so you always know where your business stands. Priced as a monthly retainer based on your business's needs.

Business Operations & Systems Design

Beyond the books, I help clients build simple, practical systems that make running the business easier - job costing and pricing templates, inventory tracking, cash flow forecasting, and standard operating procedures for the tasks that eat up your time. I bring an owner's perspective to this work: I've run my own businesses, so I understand the overwhelm firsthand. Available as an add-on for bookkeeping clients, priced per project.

Everyday Admin Support

Bill pay, invoicing, vendor follow-up, document organization, and other small tasks that free up your time - billed at the same rate as bookkeeping, added on as needed.

Ops and admin support are available exclusively to bookkeeping clients, built around what your business actually needs.

Who I Am

About Leah

Leah Daniels

I didn't start out as a bookkeeper — I started out as a business owner.

Over the years I've built and run three businesses of my own: a freelance web design studio, a landscape design business, and a full horse boarding and training operation. I've worn every hat there is — managing employees, renting commercial space, juggling multiple income streams, and yes, trying to keep the books straight while doing all of it. I know firsthand what it costs when your finances aren't organized, and how much lighter everything feels when they are.

That experience is what led me to bookkeeping professionally. I wanted to offer other small business owners something I wished I'd had — someone who understands the reality of running a business, not just the numbers on a page.

I'm based in Sonoma County, and I specialize in working with the kinds of businesses I know and love. If you're a regenerative farmer, a landscape professional, or someone in the equine world — a boarding barn, a trainer, a vet, a bodyworker, a saddle fitter, a farrier — you've probably noticed that most bookkeepers don't really get your business. The seasonal income, the mixed revenue streams, the industry-specific expenses. I do. Because I've lived it.

I bring a practical, owner-first approach to every client relationship. When you work with me, you're not getting a faceless service. You're getting someone who has been exactly where you are — and knows how to help you get somewhere better.
